MAP – Map Architectural Studio was founded in Mersin in 2017 by architect Mehmet Ali PEKKOLAY.
Coming from a family of photographers, Mehmet Ali PEKKOLAY was introduced to the art world in his early childhood and was involved in it. He has created a strong design identity in his architectural life with his expertise in many fields including professional photography, graphic design and architectural visualization before his architecture education and the background of his professional work.
MAP produces exciting, unique and strong design projects in the fields of urban design, housing, office, mixed-use buildings, educational buildings, hospitals, shopping malls, public buildings, sports complexes, renovation and interior design in the national and international arena, taking into account the individuality of user needs and requirements.
A human-centered philosophy is at the center of our design processes. What is important for us is to understand what we can offer to society and the city. Each project is a piece of the city's puzzle. Each project is approached as a fresh, blank page with its own exciting challenges and individual needs. Each new design is based on the technological possibilities, materials, colors and climate specific to that location, and we reject temporary and trendy approaches from the very beginning. We believe that providing economical solutions in the design process is a prerequisite for the design process.
Architect Mehmet Ali PEKKOLAY has a strong architectural designer identity as well as professional experience in architectural drawing and visualization programs, and was awarded the 2023 Innovative Architect of the Year Award.
